Project 22 Viewing and Discussion sponsored by Washington County Disability, Aging and Veteran Services, Washington County Suicide Prevention Council, Pacific University. Date/Time: September 22, 2018 1:00 PM. Location: Pacific University, Marsh Hall, Taylor Auditorium 2043 College Way, Forest Grove. In honor of National Suicide Prevention Month, Washington County Disability, Aging and Veteran Services, the Suicide Prevention Council of Washington County and Pacific University are partnering together to host a viewing and discussion of the documentary, Project 22. Project 22 follows two combat-wounded veterans as they ride from San Francisco to New York and speak with other veterans about post-war challenges that lead to suicide and the healing veterans are finding through alternative forms of therapy. The event will take place Saturday, September 22nd, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at Pacific University in the Marsh Hall Taylor Auditorium, which is located on the second floor. Pacific University is located at 2043 College Way, in Forest Grove. Veteran service providers and suicide prevention staff from Washington County will host a discussion and share available resources. The event is free and open to the public. Movie-style refreshments will be provided. The film includes some strong language that may not be suitable for younger viewers. RSVPs are appreciated. Veteran Suicide Awareness BBQ and Remembrance Walk sponsored by Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency – ARCHES. Date/Time: September 22, 2018 11:00 AM. Location: Bush Park 890 Mission St. SE, Salem. Join us for a remembrance walk and barbecue in Bush Park on Saturday, September 22nd, to raise awareness of veteran suicide and the local mental health resources available to veterans and their loved ones. The event will begin at 11:00 with a remembrance walk to the WW2 memorial near the capitol (0.7 miles), followed by a barbecue and music in Bush Park. Location: Concordia Universtiy Library; Room 108 2800 NE Liberty Street, Portland. This workshop was specially designed for Veterans and family by a Vietnam era Combat Veteran. It uses some of the technology of Brain Science and the some of the technology of Landmark Worldwide (a very powerful and highly regarded educational corporation). The Commitment of this workshop is for you to discover new ways to look at yourself and the world, including your past and present circumstances. By seeing these things in a new light your past will no longer dictate to you how you feel and limit what actions you can take. You do NOT need to relive your trauma to be free!
